Amongst the Impassable Fog

In-Game Log

EN: Guided by Tingyun, the Astral Express crew arrives at the Palace of Astrum in Central Starskiff Haven to seek permission to aid in resolving the Stellaron crisis. Madam Yukong, Helm Master of the Sky-Faring Commission, firmly denies their assistance and reveals that Stellaron Hunter Silver Wolf hacked the Jade Gate to guide the Express onto the ship. Just as tensions rise, General Jing Yuan intervenes via holographic projection, offering diplomatic clemency and granting the Nameless authorization to track down Kafka across the Luofu instead of touching the Stellaron. Meanwhile, at the Seat of Divine Foresight, Master Diviner Fu Xuan and retainer Yanqing discuss the fallout of Blade’s escape. Back aboard the Astral Express, Dan Heng reviews Kafka’s broadcast, realizes Blade’s lethal threat to his companions, and prepares to descend onto the Xianzhou alone.

Synopsis & Key Lore

1. The Audience at the Palace of Astrum & Yukong’s Interrogation

Entering Central Starskiff Haven, the administrative and commercial nerve center of the Luofu, the Trailblazers observe civilian unrest caused by the lockdown of loading docks and skyport channels. Guided by Tingyun, Amicassador of the Sky-Faring Commission, the crew is received inside the Palace of Astrum by Madam Yukong, the Commission’s Helm Master.

Yukong wastes no time rejecting the Astral Express’s offer of assistance. She sternly reminds the Nameless that the Xianzhou Alliance has endured over 8,000 years of cosmic calamity across the stars, possessing more than enough resources to manage internal catastrophes without foreign interference.

More crucially, Yukong presents undeniable evidence linking the Express’s sudden arrival to the Stellaron Hunters: border surveillance records show that Silver Wolf hacked the Luofu’s perimeter defenses, overriding the automated Jade Gate lockouts to usher the Astral Express inside. Believing the Express might be working in collusion with the criminals, Yukong places the crew under diplomatic house arrest within the Sky-Faring Commission.

2. Jing Yuan’s Holographic Gambit

Before guards can detain the crew, an oversized holographic projection of General Jing Yuan manifests inside the hall. Addressing Yukong with gentle deference while firmly overriding her order, Jing Yuan emphasizes that the Astral Express has spent centuries upholding interstellar justice and could not possibly be allied with the Stellaron Hunters.

Recognizing that the Nameless cannot be allowed to wander unchecked or interfere with the Xianzhou’s guarded secret—the Stellaron and the sacred Ambrosial Arbor—Jing Yuan proposes an elegant compromise:

  1. The Xianzhou military will handle the Stellaron internally, upholding sovereign protocol.
  2. The Nameless are granted full authorization to track down Kafka, who is currently lurking undercover somewhere within the delves of the Luofu. By enlisting the Express to hunt Kafka, Jing Yuan clears their criminal suspicion, turns an unpredictable external factor into an active asset, and exploits the pre-existing link between Kafka and the Trailblazer.

3. Welt Yang’s Deductions: The Hidden Escape of Blade

Once the general’s hologram disappears, Welt Yang convenes a private briefing with the Trailblazer and March 7th. Welt immediately identifies the glaring anomaly in Jing Yuan’s diplomatic overture: Blade.

  • Jing Yuan claimed that the Cloud Knights had already apprehended Blade, and that Kafka was attempting to rescue him.
  • However, if the Xianzhou already had Blade in custody, standard military procedure would use Blade as interrogation bait or trace his accomplice through him.
  • Instead, Jing Yuan avoided answering specific questions regarding Blade’s whereabouts and commissioned the Express to locate Kafka.

Welt deduces the truth: Blade has already escaped from the Shackling Prison, a humiliating security breach that Jing Yuan cannot officially disclose to the Alliance or public. The Nameless are effectively being used as bait to flush out both Stellaron Hunters before the situation spirals out of control.

4. Council at the Seat of Divine Foresight

In a cutscene shifting to the Seat of Divine Foresight, Jing Yuan meets with a projection of Master Diviner Fu Xuan. Fu Xuan criticizes Jing Yuan for not bringing Blade to the Divination Commission earlier, suspecting the General intentionally allowed Blade’s escape to manipulate events. Jing Yuan deflects with self-deprecating wit, prompting Fu Xuan to remind him of her pending succession to the General’s seat among the Six Charioteers.

Once Fu Xuan departs, Jing Yuan’s youthful retainer and sword prodigy, Yanqing, volunteers to single-handedly recapture Blade. Jing Yuan urges patience, reminding the youth that governance and grand strategy require slow, deliberate moves rather than hasty sword duels. However, Yanqing’s desire for glory overrides caution; the moment Jing Yuan turns his back, Yanqing slips away to hunt down the fugitive alone.

5. Central Starskiff Haven & Tingyun’s Insights

Tingyun escorts the Trailblazers through Starskiff Haven toward the Petrichor Inn, where premier lodging has been arranged at Commission expense. Along the way, the crew experiences a subtle gravitational dip, prompting Welt to explain the ship’s internal mechanics: the Luofu relies on a massive artificial ecosphere and an atmospheric projection dome to protect long-life inhabitants from the cosmic void and existential psychological strain.

Tingyun provides valuable context regarding Madam Yukong: far from being a stiff bureaucrat, Yukong was once the most daring, hot-tempered ace pilot of the Cloud Knights, earning legendary renown in aerial combat before age, tragedy, and the burden of command forced her into disciplined governance.

6. Decrypting Kafka’s Transmission: The Shipyard Echo

At the Petrichor Inn, Tingyun reveals a holographic excerpt of Kafka’s intercepted transmission (“Our destinations may differ, but the orbits of the stars will eventually converge”). While the spoken words offer vague poetic riddles, Tingyun reveals that the craftsmen of the Artisanship Commission analyzed the background noise of the recording.

By analyzing the specific mechanical frequencies and resonance unique to starship construction bays, the craftsmen confirmed that Kafka broadcasted her transmission from Stargazer Navalia—the massive automated manufacturing delve where Xianzhou starskiffs and military vessels are forged.

7. Dan Heng’s Dilemma on the Astral Express

The narrative cuts back in time to the Astral Express Parlor Car. Dan Heng stands paralyzed before the archive terminal. Approached by Himeko, Dan Heng asks to review Kafka’s initial transmission. When Kafka projects Blade’s image, Dan Heng freezes in horror, realizing that the lethal shadow of his banished past is now aboard the same ship as his companions: “If he’s on the ship, then Welt, March, and the Trailblazer… everyone is in grave danger!”

Himeko gently counsels him on the philosophy of the Trailblaze: everyone carries baggage and burdens from their past, but the Path of the Nameless transforms that weight into strength. Granting him permission to disembark during the train’s 7-day planetary stop, Himeko asks only that he return safely when his trial is concluded. Dan Heng heads to the airlock, setting out on a solitary journey to Cloudford.

8. Communication Blackout

Back in the present at Starskiff Haven, March 7th suggests texting Dan Heng to boast about their VIP inn treatment. However, every outgoing message displays a red transmission error: “Message failed to send”. Welt examines the terminal and realizes that the ship’s long-range communication arrays have been silently severed. Rather than an ordinary malfunction, Welt suspects the handiwork of Silver Wolf, cutting off the Astral Express crew from all external support as they prepare to enter Stargazer Navalia.

Sinossi & Analisi del Lore

Yukong respinge immediatamente ogni proposta d’aiuto avanzata dall’Astral Express.

Yukong: Greetings, guests from the Astral Express.
IT: Saluti a voi, ospiti dell’Astral Express.

Yukong: Tingyun has informed me of the purpose of your visit. Receiving guests isn’t normally one of my responsibilities…

Yukong: …but since you know about the Stellaron and have stated that you want to help the Luofu, I thought I should at least meet you in person…

Yukong: …and politely decline your proposal.
IT: …e respingere educatamente la vostra proposta.

🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 1]: Decline!? | Rifiutare!?
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 2]: Why!? | Perché!?
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 3]: … | …

Yukong: The Xianzhou Alliance knows what a Stellaron is and is more than capable of handling it ourselves. We have been around for over 8000 years and weathered countless dangers and crises. While the situation is serious, we have more than enough resources to spare. Outsider help is not needed on this occasion.

Yukong: You are guests from afar — there is no reason for this matter to concern you… Am I making myself clear?

Welt: From what we’ve gathered, the influence of the Stellaron can still be contained.
IT: Da quanto abbiamo appreso, l’influenza dello Stellaron può ancora essere arginata.

Welt: If we can locate it in time and contain it, it’s possible that we can restore any space — and any individuals — affected by the corrosion.
IT: Se riusciremo a localizzarlo in tempo e a contenerlo, sarà possibile risanare qualsiasi spazio — e qualsiasi individuo — colpito dalla corrosione.

Welt: We have experience in preventing Stellaron disasters, and we’ve only come here to lend you that experience.

Yukong: I’ve said this and I’ll say it again: This is an internal affair of the Xianzhou Alliance and there is no need for the Astral Express to get involved. I decided to arrange a meeting with you as a gesture of respect, but my decision is final.

Welt: …But—
IT: …Ma—

March 7th: Never mind, Mr. Yang. If the Xianzhou Alliance say they can handle it, then we’re wasting our breath. Let’s go.
IT: Lasci perdere, signor Yang. Andiamocene.

Yukong: I’m afraid that’s impossible.
IT: Temo che questo sia impossibile.

March 7th: …Huh? And what’s that supposed to mean?
IT: …Eh? E cosa vorrebbe dire?

Yukong: It’s only been a few days since the presence of a Stellaron was detected on the Luofu. Starskiff Haven has been under full lockdown — no one has been permitted to leave. How did you come to know of the incident, and what led you to conclude that it was linked to a Stellaron?

Yukong: I acquired the access history of Starskiff Haven. Not long ago, someone hacked into the system and opened the Jade Gate, before guiding you, the Astral Express, into our territory.
IT: Ho esaminato i registri d’accesso di Starskiff Haven.

Yukong: The hacker was skillful and even taunted us with her seal. Her name is Silver Wolf, a member of the Stellaron Hunters…

Yukong: What say you in your defense?
IT: Cosa avete da dire a vostra discolpa?

🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 1]: … | …
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 2]: The Stellaron Hunters told us to come here!
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 3]: The Stellaron Hunters want to use you to take us out!

Yukong: You are forbidden from leaving the Sky-Faring Commission until the aforementioned questions have been investigated.
IT: Vi è fatto divieto assoluto di lasciare la Sky-Faring Commission finché tali questioni non saranno state debitamente chiarite.

???: Don’t be too harsh, Yukong. If this gets out, the whole galaxy will think the Alliance has forgotten how to treat our guests.
IT: Non essere così inflessibile, Yukong.

(A massive hologram of General Jing Yuan materializes in the chamber.)

Yukong: General Jing Yuan—
IT: Generale Jing Yuan—

Jing Yuan: It’s very unlikely that the Express has joined forces with the Stellaron Hunters. They are mortal enemies, after all.

Jing Yuan: Apologies for interrupting your meeting. My name is Jing Yuan — I’m the general of the Cloud Knights here on the Luofu.

Yukong: General, this is an internal affair for the Luofu…

Jing Yuan: I fully agree with you, Helm Master Yukong, this is indeed an internal affair.

Jing Yuan: I am sorry, guests of the Astral Express. It is true that there is a Stellaron on the Luofu, but I’m afraid I cannot accept your kind offer to help resolve the issue. This is a Xianzhou matter, and it is our responsibility to handle it.
IT: Sono spiacente, stimati ospiti dell’Astral Express.

Jing Yuan: …Of course, it would be inappropriate of me to let you return without something to show for it. While I cannot accept your help with regard to the Stellaron, I do have a favor to ask. Please, after you.
IT: …Naturalmente, sarebbe scortese da parte mia lasciarvi ripartire a mani vuote. Prego, fatevi avanti.

Sequence 3: Jing Yuan’s Bargain & Welt’s Deduction | Il Patto di Jing Yuan e le Deduzioni di Welt

Jing Yuan: The Astral Express! I must confess that the train’s reputation precedes it, such that it is often close to my thoughts. How delightful to come face to face with its passengers!
IT: L’Astral Express!

🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 1]: Frightfully delightful! | Un piacere spaventosamente delizioso!
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 2]: Would that this occasion had come sooner! | Magari questa occasione si fosse presentata prima!
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 3]: …Are you really a general? | …Sei davvero un generale?

Welt: It’s an honor to meet you, general. May I ask what the favor you spoke of is?

Jing Yuan: Ah, a matter that requires capable people such as yourselves. We captured a member of the Stellaron Hunters a few days ago, who goes by the name of “Blade.”

Jing Yuan: During our investigation, the Divination Commission — the department in charge of intelligence processing — intercepted a transmission sent out by his accomplice, Kafka, who has managed to hide aboard the ship. As for where that transmission was destined…
Quanto a chi fosse indirizzata quella trasmissione…

🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 1]: The Express. | All’Express.
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 2]: Go on! Where!? | Avanti! Dove!?
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 3]: … | …

Jing Yuan: I have some knowledge of your relationship with the Stellaron Hunters. The Divination Commission is convinced that you made an alliance with them… I say that’s impossible. The crew of the Astral Express are honorable people whose valiant deeds are lauded across the universe. There must have been a misunderstanding.

Jing Yuan: As such, I came to the conclusion that the communication must have been an attempt by the Stellaron Hunters to sow dissent between us.

🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 1]: That’s right! We’ve been framed! | Esatto! Siamo stati incastrati!
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 2]: Maybe the Stellaron Hunters have other motives… | Forse gli Stellaron Hunters hanno altri motivi…
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 3]: … | …

Jing Yuan: We can handle the Stellaron, but it will take time and will require the bulk of the Cloud Knights on the ship. It is this Kafka that concerns me. The longer she stays on the ship, the bigger the threat she will pose.
È Kafka a preoccuparmi.

Jing Yuan: Since the Stellaron Hunters lured you to our ship, we shall move with the current. You are hereby authorized to do as you deem fit on the Luofu, with the goal of bringing Kafka out of the shadows and under our control.

Jing Yuan: Doing so would clear the misunderstanding between us, reveal the true intentions of the Stellaron Hunters, and help us understand their connection to the Stellaron burst. What say you, my Astral guests?

Welt: …Trailblazer, what do you think?
IT: …Trailblazer, cosa ne pensi?

🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 1]: Let’s move with the current and help out. | Seguiamo la corrente e diamo una mano.
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 2]: Our expedition was focused on the Stellaron… | La nostra spedizione era mirata allo Stellaron…
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 3]: We don’t really have a choice. | Non abbiamo molta scelta.

Jing Yuan: The Luofu never fails to reward that which is given. Wonderful, it’s a deal then. I shall notify Yukong that all intel is to be shared with you, and that our best personnel are to aid you in your search.

(Jing Yuan’s hologram vanishes. Welt gathers the crew in a quiet corner of the Palace of Astrum.)

Welt: Hmm, I think we only scratched the surface of this General Jing Yuan…

🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 1]: Do you think there’s something strange about him?
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 2]: He seems suspicious… | Sembra sospetto…

Welt: Ah, that’s it! A minor detail, but curious. He avoided talking about Blade!
IT: Ah, ecco il punto! Un dettaglio apparentemente marginale, ma curioso. Ha accuratamente evitato di parlare di Blade!

Welt: Since the Cloud Knights have already captured a Stellaron Hunter, why not use him to get to Kafka? Why rely on us?

Welt: The Xianzhou is reluctant to involve outsiders in the Stellaron disaster, so why is it so keen on letting us capture a Stellaron Hunter?

🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 1]: Could Blade have escaped? | Che Blade sia riuscito a scappare?
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 2]: Do you think Jing Yuan lied about the Stellaron? | Pensi che Jing Yuan abbia mentito sullo Stellaron?
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 3]: He’s using us as bait… | Ci sta usando come esca…

Welt: Yes. The only sensible conclusion I can draw is that Blade had already escaped when Jing Yuan spoke to us — provided they even captured him in the first place.
IT: Esattamente.

Welt: Therefore, given our connection to Kafka, we represent the only way of luring the Stellaron Hunters in. That’s why he asked for our help… He didn’t want to let anyone else find out that Blade had already escaped!

Sequence 4: Seat of Divine Foresight Cutscene | Presso la Seat of Divine Foresight

(Cut to the Seat of Divine Foresight. Jing Yuan stands before the war table as Master Diviner Fu Xuan’s projection appears.)

Jing Yuan: Master Diviner, you heard our discussion. What do you make of it?
IT: Master Diviner, avete ascoltato il nostro colloquio. Che cosa ne deducete?

Fu Xuan: What do I make of it? “The way of heaven is apparent, but the heart of humanity is often deceptive.” Are you asking me to divine their true intentions?
IT: Cosa ne deduco?

Jing Yuan: That won’t be necessary. The crew has nothing to do with the incident, of that I am almost certain. It isn’t their intentions that trouble me. All I want is for them to lure out the one we’re after.
IT: Non sarà necessario.

Fu Xuan: Wasn’t that my idea, general?
IT: Non era forse una mia idea, Generale?

Jing Yuan: Indeed, your counsel has always been of great help to me. You may use your discretion on the matters ahead of us.
IT: Certamente, i vostri consigli mi sono sempre di grande ausilio. Avete piena discrezionalità sulle questioni che ci attendono.

Fu Xuan: Hmph, why don’t you retire early and I use my discretion full-time? If you’d brought me that Blade earlier, none of this would’ve been necessary.

Fu Xuan: Wait, what are you up to exactly? Jing Yuan, did you… let him escape on purpose!?
IT: Un momento… cosa avete in mente di preciso?

Jing Yuan: Me? I had no idea he might escape! Unlike you, my gaze never travels beyond the horizon. I take full responsibility — the Cloud Knights failed in their duty.
IT: Io?

Fu Xuan: On that note, perhaps it’s about time you finally nominate me as your successor when the Six Charioteers next convene…

Jing Yuan: Yes, yes, yes… I have to go now — I’ll leave this in your overwhelmingly capable hands, Fu Xuan.
IT: Sì, sì, certo… Ora devo andare: lascio la faccenda nelle vostre straripanti e capaci mani, Fu Xuan.

(Fu Xuan’s hologram disconnects. Retainer Yanqing steps forward with a determined frown.)

Yanqing: General, Diviner Fu wants the general’s position for herself. Everyone knows that. This Stellaron thing is easy. Blade escaped, now we gotta go get him. Just say the word and I’ll solve this in a flash.

Jing Yuan: I can understand your impatience, and I know you want to prove yourself. Now is not the time. If you truly wish to become Sword Champion, you shouldn’t be running around brandishing your sword at people, especially not a major criminal.

Yanqing: Tsk, you think I’d lose to Blade?
IT: Tsk, credete davvero che perderei contro Blade?

Jing Yuan: I’m saying you need to have patience, Yanqing. Governing Xianzhou is different from a sword fight. The only way to build momentum is to work slowly. Besides, we still don’t know who’s really moving the chess pieces…

(Jing Yuan turns to examine the map. Without making a sound, Yanqing turns and slips quietly out of the hall.)

Jing Yuan: sigh That boy… I suppose it is my fault. “A sharp sword can’t stay sheathed forever,” haha… My fear is that this might prove too big a setback, bigger than his exuberance…
IT: sospiro Quel ragazzo…

Sequence 5: Walk to the Petrichor Inn | Verso la Petrichor Inn

(The Trailblazers rejoin Tingyun in Central Starskiff Haven. As they walk down the promenade, March suddenly stumbles slightly.)

March 7th: Whoa… I felt like I suddenly lost weight when we passed through.
IT: Wow… ho avuto la sensazione di aver perso peso all’improvviso appena siamo passati di lì.

Welt: There was a gravitational shift. The same thing happens when we warp jump, only we feel heavier.
IT: C’è stata una lieve variazione gravitazionale.

Welt: The Xianzhou possesses extremely advanced technology. If I’m not mistaken, we’ve been in an artificial ecosphere since we arrived at the skyport. The evidence is above us.
IT: La Xianzhou possiede tecnologie straordinariamente avanzate.

🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 1]: Strange clouds… | Nuvole bizzarre…
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 2]: The planets look way too close to each other.

Welt: The sky here is an artificial boundary. I imagine it was created to shield residents from the pitch dark of outer space, and the negative emotions that it can generate… fascinating.

Welt: I heard that residents of the Xianzhou have extremely long life spans, which would require them to make great efforts to preserve their mental health…

March 7th: When you travel with Mr. Yang, he’ll give you a thesis on everything he sees — if you have the patience to let him go on and on.

Sequence 6: The Inn & The Shipyard Echo | Alla Locanda e l’Eco del Cantiere Navale

(The group arrives before the magnificent Petrichor Inn.)

March 7th: Jokes aside, did you see Madam Yukong frown at us? I thought her guards were about to jump out of nowhere and throw us in jail. I’d rather deal with monsters than these big shots…
IT: Scherzi a parte, avete visto come ci guardava torva Madame Yukong?

Tingyun: Don’t worry, my lips are sealed~ But as her subordinate, I have to say that it’s Madam Yukong’s duty to keep her guard up. The Luofu is facing a crisis, and as head of the Sky-Faring Commission, she is responsible for the security of the Xianzhou’s customs and borders. She’s actually a very reasonable old girl in private.

Tingyun: They say that many years ago, Madam Yukong was an ace pilot in the Cloud Knights. She was a “work hard, play harder” type, known for her hot temper and incredible skill. Eventually, she became the head of the entire commission, which required her to learn patience and adopt a meticulous approach to her work.

Welt: Seeing as Helm Master Yukong was extremely reluctant to get us involved, am I right to speculate that the Sky-Faring Commission has some leads on the whereabouts of Kafka?

Tingyun: Exactly right. The suspect is extremely cunning. She encrypted her transmission and timed her communication — we couldn’t pinpoint her exact location. But the Divination Commission has managed to find something.
IT: Esattamente.

(Tingyun activates a projector, displaying Kafka holding an umbrella in the rain.)

Kafka (Recording): “Here are the coordinates. It’s up to you how to proceed. Our destinations may differ, but the orbits of the stars will eventually converge. See you later.”
IT: “Ecco le coordinate. Spetta a voi decidere come procedere. A presto.”

🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 1]: Is there anything special about what she said?
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 2]: Coordinates? Converge? | Coordinate? Convergere?
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 3]: I heard something in the background. | Ho sentito un rumore di sottofondo.

Tingyun: Precisely. That’s the sound of a device. Miss March, to the untrained ear, these noises may sound the same. But for the craftsmen of the Artisanship Commission, every machine has a different pitch and melody.
IT: Esattamente.

Tingyun: The general sent for craftsmen, and they concluded that the sound came from the shipyard facilities in Stargazer Navalia. Now, get some rest and prepare yourselves for the operation ahead. I look forward to seeing you in action~

Sequence 7: Flashback on the Astral Express | Flashback a bordo dell’Astral Express

(The scene shifts to the Astral Express Parlor Car, shortly before the landing team departed. Dan Heng stands alone in silence by the archive terminal.)

Himeko: You’ve been standing here for half an hour. It’s rare to see you like this. Are you worried about those two? Welt is with them. They should be fine.
IT: Sei fermo qui da mezz’ora.

Dan Heng: Himeko, did you keep a copy of the Stellaron Hunters’ transmission? Can I have a look?
Posso rivederla?

Himeko: …Sure.
IT: …Certamente.

(The recording replays. Blade’s chained figure appears upon the screen.)

Dan Heng: Stop!
IT: Ferma!

Himeko: …Do you know him?
IT: …Lo conosci?

Dan Heng: The Xianzhou is in danger! …This man, he— If he’s on the ship, then Welt, March, and the Trailblazer… everyone is in grave danger!
IT: La Xianzhou è in grave pericolo!

Himeko: Is he… connected to that past you want to escape?

Dan Heng: I… I can’t leave them down there. It’s just… I’m afraid my burden has finally caught up with me, and that everyone is about to be drawn in…
IT: Io… non posso lasciarli soli laggiù.

Himeko: Is there anyone who doesn’t carry around a past burden? She may not remember it, but even a girl as carefree as March has hers. We tread on a Path that is hidden from us. The things we see and the trails we blaze all become our baggage. They weigh us down, but they also give us strength to continue the journey.

Himeko: Try not to dwell on it, Dan Heng. The Express spends seven standard days at each stop. Its passengers are allowed to do as they deem fit during that time. Pom-Pom and I are more than capable of looking after the Express. If there’s something you’ve got to do, do it now. Better than regretting it further down the line.
IT: Non torturarti, Dan Heng.

(Dan Heng nods solemnly and turns toward the boarding ramp.)

Himeko: And… you’ll come back and travel with us once this is all over, right?

(Dan Heng pauses, nods firmly, and departs.)

Sequence 8: Communication Blackout | Il Blackout delle Comunicazioni

(Back in the present outside the Petrichor Inn. March 7th smiles eagerly.)

March 7th: Oh, let’s let the Express know how we’re doing~ More importantly, let’s see how Dan Heng’s doing! Hee-hee, ask him what he’s up to — then tell him we’re having loads of fun!
IT: Oh, facciamo sapere all’Express come ce la passiamo~ Ma soprattutto, sentiamo come sta Dan Heng!

(The Trailblazer types a message on the smartphone terminal:)

[Trailblazer]: Hey, you guys doing alright? March and I are doing missions for the Xianzhou… Are you okay…?
❌ [System Notice]: Message failed to send.

March 7th: Message not sent? Why not?
IT: Messaggio non inviato? E perché mai?

🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 1]: I don’t know. | Non lo so.
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 2]: Bad signal? | Segnale debole?
🔹 [Trailblazer Choice 3]: Maybe they demolished the base stations? | Forse hanno abbattuto i ripetitori?

Welt: Long-range communication technology is still improving. Perhaps the presence of the Stellaron is affecting signal transmission.

March 7th: Doesn’t seem like it, everything else is working fine — see?
IT: Non mi pare proprio, tutto il resto funziona a meraviglia — guardi!

Welt: In that case, it looks like someone wants to make things difficult for us. Since Kafka’s here, I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns out to be that Stellaron Hunter hacker girl’s handiwork.
