Hook's Treasure
Hook’s Treasure
Synopsis & Key Lore
- A Secret Mission for The Moles: Hook borrows Julian’s communication device to send an urgent message to the Trailblazer. Meeting outside the clinic in Boulder Town, Hook reveals that she and her father Fersman share the exact same birthday. Fersman works late every night to provide for her, so Hook is determined to buy him a worthy present using her own money. She plans to sneak into the abandoned, Fragmentum-corrupted Rivet Town to dig up her hidden treasures.
- Julian’s Blackmail & The Glass Marbles: Upon reaching Rivet Town, Hook reveals that Julian discovered her plan and threatened to snitch to “the old witch” (Natasha) unless they fetched his childhood treasure too. In Julian’s parents’ old shop, they find a jar of colorful glass marbles and a rusted key. Hook recounts how Julian originally won those marbles in an epic contest against bullying wealthy kids, saving the honor of the orphanage and cementing his rank as Second-in-Command of The Moles.
- The Broken Miniature Drill: Searching near the mine entrance below the orphanage, Hook locates a custom miniature drilling rig given to her by a skilled miner from Fersman’s crew. To her heartbreak, the machine is broken and will not start. Furthermore, the miner who crafted it vanished years ago, leaving it impossible to repair.
- Findie & The Orphanage Treasures: Refusing to return empty-handed, Hook leads the Trailblazer to the old orphanage where she stashed another keepsake. With her handwritten treasure map ruined, the Trailblazer deploys Findie (the Home-Use Object Finder). The device first unearths Julian’s Time Capsule (“For Julian 50 years in the future”), followed by Hook’s cherished teddy bear, Junjun.
- The Story of Junjun: Hook explains that Natasha gifted her Junjun as an award for being well-behaved for an entire month at the orphanage—a grueling feat for the rebellious child. Though Junjun is filthy and frayed, Hook decides to have Natasha repair him so he can be sold for Fersman’s gift.
- Natasha’s Discovery — The Erebus Gems: Returning to Boulder Town, Hook begs Natasha to mend the bear and promises a month of clinic chores, only to flee in panic when Natasha begins to scold her for entering the Fragmentum. While restuffing and stitching Junjun, Natasha examines the doll’s eyes and makes a stunning discovery: distracted years ago while sewing, she mistakenly used genuine, high-grade Erebus gemstones as button eyes!
- Setting the Stage for the Auction: When the Trailblazer informs Hook that Junjun is actually a priceless antique, Hook’s excitement peaks. With a treasure worth a fortune, she eagerly prepares to enter Boulder Town’s upcoming underground auction to secure the ultimate gift for her father.
Dialogue & Mission Progression
1. Receive a Message from Hook
(The Trailblazer receives an incoming message on their mobile device)
- Hook: 123 are you the honorary member of the The Moles I am Pitch-Dark Hook the Great I borrowed Julian stuff to message you I’m not good at typing yet It’s sooo difficult Right I need your help Come find me and don’t you ever tell that old witch otherwise you are done for
2. Meet Hook in Boulder Town
Mission Description: Hook of the Moles wants to see you. As an honorary member of the Moles, it’s your duty to answer her call. Although Hook has the smugness of a child, you can’t help but want to help her, perhaps out of pity.
(Approach Hook standing outside the clinic in Boulder Town)
- Hook: Ah, honorary member of The Moles! Listen up!
- [Trailblazer] What is it, Pitch-Dark Hook the Great?
- [Trailblazer] What is it?
- Hook: How rude! You should have called me Pitch-Dark… Ugh, never mind…
- Hook: Thank you for helping Hook find the detector, but now Hook needs to ask you another favor…
- [Trailblazer] Leave it to me.
- Hook: Haha, I haven’t even mentioned what this is about! But that’s the spirit. You truly are an honorary member of The Moles!
- [Trailblazer] I’m all ears.
- [Trailblazer] Allow me to refuse.
- Hook: Hmph, at least hear me out first before you refuse.
- Hook: Hook and daddy’s birthday is approaching! Every year at this time, we exchange gifts and celebrate our birthday together.
- [Trailblazer] You two share a birthday? What a coincidence!
- Hook: Yeah, what’s the problem? Daddy’s job has been more difficult since moving to Boulder Town. He gets home really late every day. I don’t want to use his hard-earned money to buy a gift!
- [Trailblazer] Hook, you are so considerate.
- Hook: Hee-hee… Hey, are you patronizing me?
- [Trailblazer] Why not ask Natasha for some money?
- Hook: …Oh, I’ve broken a thing or two in the clinic, you see… I’m too embarrassed to ask for help from the old witch…
- Hook: Actually, I still have some valuable treasure of my own in Rivet Town. It’s a shame I left it there. If I go bring it back and sell it for a decent price, I can buy a gift for daddy without begging anyone for money.
- [Trailblazer] Rivet Town is in Fragmentum…
- Hook: I know that Rivet Town is super dangerous right now! That’s why I’d like to enlist you as my bodyguard! That way, even if the old witch finds out later, I won’t be the only one getting a scolding, hehe!
- [Trailblazer] So you’re begging me to help?
- Hook: Wh—What nonsense! This is an order from the boss of The Moles. An order! And I’m still a kid! You wouldn’t let me go inside the Fragmentum by myself, would you?
- Hook: Then it’s settled, let’s meet in Rivet Town! I’ll be waiting for you in a safe spot. You’re not allowed to not come!
3. Meet Hook in Rivet Town
Step Description: Hook sets off alone, saying she will be waiting for you at a safe place in Rivet Town. But this town is corrupted by Fragmentum. Nowhere is safe. It’s the duty of an honorary member of the Moles to protect Hook, so you need to find her and bring her back as soon as possible.
(Meet Hook near the entrance of Rivet Town ruins)
- Hook: {NICKNAME}, what took you so long? Hook’s been waiting here for ages!
- [Trailblazer] Sorry to have kept you waiting.
- Hook: …Well, it wasn’t actually that long. As long as you’re here now, it’s fine!
- [Trailblazer] But I didn’t take a single break on my way over.
- Hook: …Okay, whatever you say. As long as you’re here now, it’s fine!
- Hook: I got some good news and some bad news. Which do you wanna hear first?
- [Trailblazer] The bad news.
- Hook: I told the rest of The Moles about the plan, and Julian asked me to get some treasure for him. If we don’t help him, he’ll tell the old witch where we’ve gone! The good news is that he’s willing to contribute to our adventure. Look, he gave me this gardening shovel!
- [Trailblazer] The good news.
- Hook: Julian is willing to contribute to our adventure. Look, he gave me this gardening shovel! The bad news is that he asked us to help him get some treasure… Otherwise, he’ll tell the old witch about our plan!
- [Trailblazer] How dare he threaten the boss of The Moles!
- Hook: Well, Julian has been a huge help to me! Consider this returning the favor.
- [Trailblazer] Are you really that scared of Natasha?
- Hook: Hehehehe her…? No, what? N—Nonsense, no! Nobody scares Pitch-Dark Hook the Great!
- Hook: Well, the treasure won’t grow legs and find us, will it! Come on, let’s go!
4. Find Julian’s Treasure
Step Description: Hook gives your plan away to Julian, and now you have to help Julian find his stuff so that he won’t tell anybody else about it. When the inhabitants of Rivet Town left, they left many things behind.
(Reach the residential street where Julian’s family lived)
- Hook: Julian’s parents used to own a business in this area. When we were all forced to leave the town, there were lots of things they didn’t have time to take with them. It shouldn’t be too hard to locate his treasure! Let’s start by looking over there!
(Unearth the hidden items)
- Hook: Ah, we found Julian’s treasure! No, not the key — these glass marbles. Look at all the different colors! I bet it wasn’t easy collecting all these.
- [Trailblazer] What are these marbles used for?
- Hook: What? Hee-hee, you don’t know? Have you never played marbles before!?
- Hook: By the way, what does this key open? Maybe Julian knows…
- [Trailblazer] I thought the key was the treasure…
- Hook: No, these marbles are what he’s after. But I’m also curious… What does this key open? Let’s ask Julian when we get back.
- Hook: What’s that look on your face? Oh, I get it. You don’t think this jar of glass marbles is worth anything, right?
- [Trailblazer] It doesn’t look like anything special.
- [Trailblazer] That’s not what I was thinking…
- Hook: Hmph, don’t even try to pretend otherwise! The look on your face sold you out! Let me tell you something, this jar of marbles means a lot to The Moles. Julian used it to help The Moles overcome a super-huge crisis, for which he was promoted to second-in-command!
- [Trailblazer] He defeated Fragmentum monsters with marbles?
- Hook: Of course it wasn’t that. But his accomplishments are nothing to be scoffed at!
- [Trailblazer] The crisis you’re referring to…
- Hook: In the past, the kids in town were archrivals to us at the orphanage! Those kids used to bully us, relying on the pocket money that their parents gave ‘em. One time, they sent us a formal declaration of war — challenging The Moles to a marbles competition!
- Hook: We were all well aware that we didn’t stand a chance! We at the orphanage only had some old glass marbles we scavenged from the side of the road, which were no match for those rich kids’ marbles! Nonetheless, Julian bravely accepted the challenge… and triumphantly returned with a pile of colorful glass marbles he won! It was incredible!
- [Trailblazer] Wow, what a little hero.
- [Trailblazer] It’s no wonder he values these marbles so much.
- Hook: Yep. So now you know why he wanted us to find this treasure. Alright, enough chit-chat! Next we need to find my treasure.
(Obtained A Bottle of Glass Marbles and Rusted Key)
5. Hook’s First Treasure: The Miniature Drill Rig
Step Description: The treasure that Hook is looking for is near the mine entrance in Rivet Town. To defend against monsters, residents set up barricades. Advance with caution.
(Head down the path toward the mine entrance below the orphanage)
- Hook: Time to get to work! Hook’s treasure is hidden below the orphanage, near the mine’s entrance. This doesn’t feel like the Rivet Town I remember… Do you think the orphanage is like this now too?
- Hook: This place is nothing like it was before I left! Boxes and mine carts are all over the street. What a mess! Did someone move my treasure too? I used to keep it in the mining team’s junk pile. Behind the corner, there were heaps of Geomarrow and boxes. Hopefully, it hasn’t been taken.
- [Trailblazer] Got it, I’ll start looking.
- [Trailblazer] You can look for it yourself and let me know when you find it.
- Hook: sigh Why are you so lazy? I’m so unlucky!
(Hook spots a hidden box on an elevated stack)
- Hook: Quick, help! I can’t reach it, it’s too high!
- Hook: Look, it’s in this box! This miniature drill rig was given to me by a guy from daddy’s mining team as a birthday present! I’m going to turn it on… Whoosh!
- Hook: Huh…?
- [Trailblazer] It’s broken?
- [Trailblazer] Is it working?
- Hook: It… it won’t turn on… J—Just don’t talk to me right now… I need to calm down!
- [Trailblazer] Standing around waiting won’t do anything.
- Hook: I said don’t talk to me right now! I need time to think…
- (Brief silence)
- Hook: Honorary member… Um, I wonder, how much do you think Julian’s glass marbles would sell for?
- [Trailblazer] That’s all you came up with after calming down!?
- [Trailblazer] But these marbles belong to Julian…
- [Trailblazer] They’re worth half a shield at most.
- Hook: That’s it!? Ugh, I guess I’ll have to abandon my evil plan.
- [Trailblazer] Why not find someone to fix it?
- [Trailblazer] How about we ask the guy who gave you the gift for help?
- Hook: Not possible. Daddy said that guy went missing one day, and he never saw him again. Maybe he went to someplace far away… I have no idea when he’ll come back. So that definitely won’t work!
- [Trailblazer] What should we do now?
- [Trailblazer] We should go back.
- Hook: Wait a second! I hid another treasure at the orphanage! I don’t want to sell it, but if I want to buy daddy a gift, I don’t have any other choice… Honorary member, please! Please help me look for it! Just one more time!
- [Trailblazer] Argh, fine…
- [Trailblazer] Will this really be the last time…
- Hook: I promise this is the last time! Let’s go!
6. The Orphanage & Findie the Object Finder
Step Description: Hook’s small drilling machine is broken. She remembers she has another treasure at the orphanage. Keep moving.
(Climb the stairs up to the Rivet Town Orphanage grounds)
- Hook: Why are there so many monsters here!? We need to deal with them first!
(Defeat the Fragmentum monsters occupying the courtyard)
- Hook: Wait! Let me take a look at my notes. I marked the location where I stashed the treasure. “Go down the stairs on the left, then walk ten paces forward. Turn right, walk another fifteen paces. Spin around ten times, then keep walking forward…”
- Hook: …Oh, no… I’m doomed! The second half of my notes are completely ruined!
- [Trailblazer] You shouldn’t have written so much.
- [Trailblazer] I have a treasure of my own…
- (Trailblazer): (Let’s use Findie the Home-Use Object Finder to help Hook search.)
(Activate Findie)
- Findie: Beep, beep, beep… Findie the Home-Use Object Finder at your service. Please say the target object you want to search for.
- Hook: Wow! This little thing… it can talk?
- Findie: Wow, you can talk as well, little thing?
- Hook: Aren’t you sassy! But if you can help me find my treasure, I’ll let it slide!
(Investigate the first signal point behind the orphanage)
- Hook: What’s this? Looks like something is written on it… “For Julian 50 years in the future”? Whatever. Since we’ve already dug it up, let’s open it!
- [Trailblazer] Isn’t it unsuitable for people to wear, though?
- [Trailblazer] What if it has poison inside?
- Hook: Really? The old witch did say that some things will emit a poisonous gas after being buried for a long time… Okay forget it, let’s not open it! Let’s take it back to Julian along with the glass marbles.
(Obtained Julian’s Time Capsule)
(Investigate the second signal point near the fence)
- Hook: Here it is — my teddy bear! The old witch gave it to me as a gift!
- [Trailblazer] This is your treasure?
- [Trailblazer] I was expecting something impressive…
- Hook: Hey! Don’t underestimate Junjun! Whoa, Junjun… How did you get covered in dirt? And why do you have so many loose threads? If we don’t get you cleaned up, no one will buy you.
- [Trailblazer] How much… can you get for him?
- Hook: Well, the old witch said that Junjun isn’t just any old teddy bear! He’ll be worth a lot of money once he’s cleaned up! sigh There’s no other way… I haven’t learned to sew yet — I’ll have to ask the old witch for help. If she finds out I went somewhere I shouldn’t have gone… Hook will get lectured all over again…
- Hook: But so what if the old witch yells at me, Hook still has to prepare the gift for daddy!
- [Trailblazer] You’re starting to impress me.
- [Trailblazer] Don’t drag me into this when Natasha gets furious.
- Hook: We’ve found the treasure. Let’s split! The monsters here give Hook goosebumps — too scary! I’m warning you — don’t you dare tell the old witch about Hook’s plan to sell the treasure!
(Obtained Junjun, the Cuddly Bear)
7. Natasha’s Clinic: Repairing Junjun
Step Description: Hook’s treasure looks damaged. It’s impossible to sell it… You have to ask Natasha, the doll maker, for help.
(Return to Natasha’s Clinic in Boulder Town and submit Junjun)
- Natasha: Hook? What are you…
- Hook: N—Natasha! Junjun’s in bad shape. Can you help me fix him…?
- Natasha: I remember giving you Junjun. I haven’t seen this fella in years. Where did you find him?
- Hook: The… the wind brought him back to me…
- Natasha: Be honest with me, Hook.
- Hook: …{NICKNAME} helped me find him in the Rivet Town orphanage.
- Natasha: You had {NICKNAME} take you to the Fragmentum just for this teddy bear? Hook, how many times have I told you…?
- Hook: Natasha, please! Please help me fix Junjun. I’ll clean the clinic for you for a whole month!
- Natasha: sigh You say that every time, and then…
- Hook: G—Great, seeya soon! {NICKNAME}, I’ll leave Junjun with you!
- (Hook bolts out the door)
- Natasha: …What am I going to do with that girl. You shouldn’t indulge her, outsider. Uh-uh, I know it’s difficult to tell Hook “no,” but sometimes it just has to be done.
- Natasha: Junjun… so she gave her bear a name, huh? It was an award I used to give the kids in Rivet Town for “good behavior.” Can you imagine what an orphanage is like with so many difficult children? I had to come up with a solution to get them to behave. Hook pretended to be well-behaved for a month in order to get Junjun. She ate on time, slept on time — even stopped fighting with the other kids…
- [Trailblazer] That must have been some difficult pretending…
- Natasha: Of course, as soon as she got her award, she went straight back to her old self. Hook has an uncanny ability to rally people to her cause — both adults and children. It’s a skill alright, and forcing her to be well-behaved puts a lid on it.
- Natasha: …Well, this teddy bear has sure been through the wars. Don’t worry, I’ll help Hook repair Junjun, but I’ll need to find some stuffing…
- Natasha: W—Wait, look at the eyes…
- [Trailblazer] Pretty, they look like gemstones.
- [Trailblazer] Round and black.
- [Trailblazer] Are they moving?
- Natasha: Ugh, please don’t say that…
- Natasha: They must be… erebus? Strange, I didn’t notice when I sewed them on…
- [Trailblazer] Are they worth a lot?
- Natasha: I’m no appraiser, but these two gems look to be high quality. I think I must have been distracted — it’s not every day you sew precious gems into a teddy bear. Honestly… Well, our war torn bear here just became a priceless doll. Not bad, Junjun.
- Natasha: Go and find Hook, she can’t have gone too far…
8. The Gemstone Secret & Next Steps
Step Description: Hook gets criticized and runs out of the clinic. It turns out that the eyes of the doll are gems. Will Hook have second thoughts when she hears this?
(Catch up with Hook waiting nervously outside the clinic)
- Hook: …Did the old witch yell at you?
- [Trailblazer] She did.
- Hook: sigh But you were only there to help Hook… I’m sorry, honorary member!
- [Trailblazer] She didn’t.
- Hook: What? Why did she only yell at Hook!?
- Hook: Never mind that. You didn’t tell her what I was really up to, did you?
- [Trailblazer] Absolutely not, Pitch-Dark Hook the Great.
- Hook: Great! Your loyalty as an honorary member of The Moles is acknowledged.
- [Trailblazer] Natasha has excellent intuition.
- Hook: Anyway, why are you still standing here, silly? Do you have something to report to the boss of The Moles?
- [Trailblazer] Junjun’s eyes are precious gems.
- Hook: G—Gems!? Does that mean he’s worth a lot of money?
- [Trailblazer] Will you sell him?
- [Trailblazer] You don’t want to sell him all of a sudden?
- Hook: Of course I’ll sell him! If the gems are expensive, Hook can buy a better birthday gift for daddy! I don’t want to keep Junjun’s eyes. If some kid gets a Junjun with no eyes, they’ll be sad, right?
- Hook: Anyhow, this is super useful intel! If you’d been with The Moles a bit longer, I’d be promoting you to third-in-command right now!
- Hook: I’ll need your help again after Natasha fixes Junjun! Always be prepared to answer the call of Pitch-Dark Hook the Great!
9. Post-Mission: Handing Over Julian’s Treasures
(Speak with Julian in Boulder Town)
- [Trailblazer] Julian, I’ve got your stuff here.
- Julian: I heard Hook say that she took you adventuring in Rivet Town just to find my marbles. Thank you very much, {F#miss}{M#mister}, but don’t read too much into it. That’s not enough for you to be the second-in-command of The Moles. You gotta get past me — and I ain’t planning on giving up my position just yet!
- Julian: …O-okay. Just give me my stuff.
(Hand over A Bottle of Glass Marbles, Julian’s Time Capsule, and Rusted Key)
- Julian: Is all of this my stuff? Thank you, {F#miss}{M#mister}! These glass marbles I won… Are these also mine? “For Julian, in 50 years’ time”?
- Julian: …Ah, that’s the key for the iron gates behind the business street. No one needs it anymore. Thank you so much!
- Julian: You’ve given me so much stuff, {F#miss}{M#mister}. I have to give you something too — well, how about this copy of The Adventurous Moles?
(Obtained The Adventurous Moles: Hidden Treasure — Unlocking the Adventure Mission “The Adventurous Moles”)
Sinossi & Eventi Chiave
Ascolta bene!
- [Trailblazer] Cosa c’è, Pitch-Dark Hook the Great?
- [Trailblazer] Che succede?
- Hook: Che maleducazione! Avresti dovuto chiamarmi Pitch-Dark… Uffa, lascia perdere…
- [Trailblazer] Lascia fare a me.
- [Trailblazer] Sono tutto orecchi.
- [Trailblazer] Permettimi di rifiutare.
- Hook: Hmph!
Torna a casa tardissimo ogni sera.
- [Trailblazer] Hook, sei davvero molto premurosa.
- Hook: Hihihi…
- Hook: Lo so benissimo che Rivet Town è super pericolosa adesso!
- Hook: Allora siamo d’accordo: ci vediamo a Rivet Town! Ti aspetterò in un posto sicuro. Non azzardarti a non venire!
3. Appuntamento a Rivet Town
- Hook: …D’accordo, come ti pare. L’importante è che sei qui!
- Hook: Ho una buona notizia e una cattiva notizia. Quale vuoi sentire prima?
- [Trailblazer] La cattiva notizia.
- Hook: Hihihi… io?! Pff, macché! N—Niente affatto! Nessuno può spaventare Pitch-Dark Hook the Great!
Cominciamo a scavare laggiù!
- [Trailblazer] A cosa servono queste biglie?
- Hook: Cosa?
- [Trailblazer] Non stavo pensando a quello…
- Hook: Ma no, che c’entra!
Fu spettacolare!
- [Trailblazer] Un vero piccolo eroe.
- [Trailblazer] Ora capisco perché ci tenga così tanto.
- Hook: Esatto! Ora sai perché voleva questo tesoro. Bene, basta chiacchiere: adesso tocca al mio tesoro!
(Ottenuto: Barattolo di Biglie di Vetro e Chiave Arrugginita)
- Hook: Al lavoro!
Spero nessuno l’abbia portato via.
- [Trailblazer] Ricevuto, inizio a cercare.
- Hook: Aiuto, presto!
- [Trailblazer] Ma quelle biglie appartengono a Julian…
- [Trailblazer] E adesso cosa facciamo?
- [Trailblazer] Dovremmo tornare indietro.
- Hook: Aspetta un momento! Ho nascosto un altro tesoro all’orfanotrofio! Membro onorario, ti supplico! Aiutami a cercarlo! Solo un’ultima volta!
- [Trailblazer] E va bene…
- [Trailblazer] Sarà davvero l’ultima volta?
- Hook: Prometto che è l’ultima! Andiamo!
6. L’Orfanotrofio & Il Rilevatore Findie
Descrizione Fase: La perforatrice giocattolo è guasta. Hook ricorda di avere un altro tesoro nascosto all’orfanotrofio. Prosegui l’esplorazione.
Gira a destra, altri quindici passi.
- Hook: …Oh no…
- [Trailblazer] Non dovevi scrivere istruzioni così complicate.
(Attiva Findie)
- Findie: Bip, bip, bip…
- Hook: Ehi! Non sottovalutare Junjun! Mamma mia, Junjun… come ti sei ridotto?
- Hook: Abbiamo preso tutto, filiamo!
(Ottenuto: Junjun, l’Orsacchiotto Tenerone)
- Natasha: Hook? Cosa ci fai…
- Hook: N—Natasha! Junjun è ridotto malissimo… Mi aiuteresti ad aggiustarlo?
- Natasha: Mi ricordo di Junjun. Erano anni che non vedevo questo pupazzo. Dove l’hai trovato?
- Natasha: sigh Lo prometti ogni volta, e poi…
- Hook: F—Fantastico, a dopo! {NICKNAME}, ti affido Junjun!
- [Trailblazer] Sono graziosi, sembrano pietre preziose.
- [Trailblazer] Neri e rotondi.
(Raggiungi Hook in attesa vicino all’ingresso della clinica)
- Hook: …La vecchia strega ti ha sgridato?
- [Trailblazer] Eccome se mi ha sgridato.
- Hook: sigh Ma tu volevi solo aiutare Hook… Mi dispiace, membro onorario!
- [Trailblazer] No, non mi ha detto nulla.
- Hook: Cosa?!
- [Trailblazer] Assolutamente no, Pitch-Dark Hook the Great.
- Hook: Perfetto!
- [Trailblazer] Non avrai cambiato idea adesso, spero?
Tieniti sempre pronto a rispondere alla chiamata di Pitch-Dark Hook the Great!
Grazie infinite!
- Julian: Mi hai riportato così tante cose belle, {F#signorina}{M#signore}. Devo sdebitarmi in qualche modo…
(Ottenuto: I Moles Avventurosi: Il Tesoro Nascosto — Sblocco della missione “The Adventurous Moles”)
